Boyapati Srinu to direct Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat 2’

According to a Gulte report, the production house of ‘Jaat’ was initially considering Gopichand Malineni for the sequel again. However, since he is already working on other projects, the makers first approached Sriram Adittya. Boyapati Srinu is being considered to direct ‘Jaat 2’. No official announcement has been made yet; however, the buzz suggests he is set to direct Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat 2’. Boyapati Srinu is known for directing the ‘Akhanda’ movie franchise starring Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Sunny Deol will next be seen in the film ‘Lahore 1947’, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan. The movie features Preity Zinta as the female lead. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters in August this year. He will also feature in OTT projects like ‘Ikka’ and ‘Gabru’. The latter, directed by Shashank Udapurkar, is set to hit theaters on May 8, 2026. The senior Deol will also play Lord Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravan. The movie is set for a Diwali release this year. Part 2 of the movie will be out in theaters in Diwali next year.Sunny Deol was last seen in the film ‘Border 2’, co-starring Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh. The movie was released in theaters on January 23, 2026. Directed by Anurag Singh and backed by JP Dutta, the movie went on to earn over Rs 400 crore at the global box office.
