Sunita says she loves when Govinda calls her ‘Sona’ amidst divorce rumours

Amidst divorce rumours, Sunita Ahuja says she goes mad when Govinda calls her 'Sona': 'Woh abhi bolte hai ki main baccha hu'

Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have been in the spotlight once again, with fresh buzz around their alleged divorce. Their daughter Tina Ahuja, however, recently dismissed the talk as completely untrue. Earlier though, Sunita had said that nobody can ever come in between him and Govinda. They’ve been married for more than three decades. Amidst these rumours, Sunita has opened up on what she finds special and her simplicty, left everyone else gushing as well. In a chat with Instant Bollywood, Sunita opened up about the little gestures through which Govinda expresses his love, as well as what he admires most about her. Sharing what makes her feel special, Sunita revealed, “Abhi tak toh aisa kuch nahi kiya, bas pyar se mujhe ‘Sona’ bol dete hain toh main pagal ho jaati hoon.” The simplicity of her reply charmed many online. When asked what Govinda likes about her, she added with a smile, “Woh abhi bolte hain ki main bachcha hoon. Abhi main 55 ki hoon, kis angle se bachcha lagti hoon? Aur main bolti hoon ki bachcha hoon toh godh mein lekar ghoomon na mujhe.” While Sunita’s playful responses won over fans, Tina addressed the heavier side of ongoing speculation in an interview with Hindustan Times. Refuting separation rumours, she stated, “It’s all rumours.” On how she personally handles such reports, she remarked, “I don’t pay attention to these rumours.” Asked about her parents’ reaction, she simply said, “Kya bolun main? He is not even in the country.”Sunita, meanwhile, touched on the matter in her recent vlog, where she was seen at Mahalaxmi Mandir—her place of worship since childhood. Breaking down in front of the priest, she recalled, “When I met Govinda, I prayed to the Goddess that I should get married to him and have a good life. The Goddess fulfilled all my wishes—she even blessed me with two children. But not every truth in life is easy; there are always ups and downs. Still, I have so much faith in the Goddess that whatever I am witnessing today, I know that whoever tries to break my home, Maa Kaali is there.”Despite these emotional declarations, Hauterrfly reported that Sunita officially filed for divorce in the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. The court had summoned Govinda, but he allegedly failed to appear until a show-cause notice was served in May 2025. Go to Source
