Veteran director Subhash Ghai praised Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ on social media today, lauding its storytelling, cast, and action after a recent viewing. The spy thriller, inspired by Karachi’s Lyari gangs, has grossed Rs 805 crore since December 5. Starring Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ releases March 19, 2026.

Subhash Ghai, the seasoned Bollywood director, lauded Aditya Dhar for his latest film ‘Dhurandhar’ and shared his immense pride. On his official social media handle today, January 12 (Monday), Ghai gushed that he’s endlessly impressed by Aditya’s amazing storytelling flair following a recent viewing of the gripping spy thriller.

Sharing a throwback photo of Aditya, Ghai wrote, “You deserve beyond congratulations for making this artistic craft of cinema at commercial platform in HINDI INDIAN CINEMA. I saw the film yesterday and can’t stop praising the story telling in chapters, its conflicts, challenges, characters, casting, costumes, cinematography and believable action and sets with brilliant performance of even the smallest characters on screen with a world of Pakistani gangs some time ago. It deserves all its commercial success and I feel proud of you and your team of DHURANDHAR with all my blessings”.

‘Dhurandhar’ box office storm

Since its December 5 release, ‘Dhurandhar’ has been storming the box office, smashing records daily. The film’s box office haul has sparked endless chatter among critics and viewers alike for weeks now. After close to six weeks in theaters, it has reportedly raked in Rs 805 crore. Based on actual events and the crime gangs of Karachi’s Lyari district, the movie portrays India’s battle against terrorism in Pakistan through real-life inspirations.

Star-studded cast and sequel

Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ features Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, and Gaurav Gera, among others.
