Steven Tyler scores WIN in sexual assault of minor lawsuit

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler scores legal WIN in sexual assault of minor lawsuit; court DISMISSES 99 per cent claims

Steven Tyler has scored a major victory in his ongoing lawsuit alleging sexual assault of a minor, after a California judge dismissed the majority of claims brought against him.In the lawsuit, Julia Holcomb alleges that she was involved in a years-long relationship with the Aerosmith frontman, beginning when she was just 16. Holcomb filed her lawsuit in California and made several other claims about sexual encounters in various states. However, according to court documents cited by TMZ, the judge dismissed all other claims and ruled that only one claim, linked to an alleged incident in California, can proceed. The claim centres on an allegation that Tyler and Holcomb had sexual relations during a 1974 trip to California, including at a hotel and a public hot tub, when she was still a minor.Tyler’s attorney, David Long-Daniels, said in a statement that the ruling was a decisive win. He said, “This is a massive win for Steven Tyler. Today, the court has dismissed with prejudice 99.9% of the claims against Mr. Tyler in this case. The court has decided that only one night fifty-plus years ago out of a three-year relationship is allowed to remain. We look forward to trying this case on August 31.”Claims related to alleged sexual encounters in other states, including Massachusetts and Oregon, were dismissed on jurisdictional grounds and cannot be tried in a California court. As per the report, the filings indicate that the couple’s relationship continued for several years. By the following year (June 1975), the two were reportedly living together, engaged, and even expecting a child together.Holcomb initially filed the lawsuit in December 2022, accusing Tyler of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The case is now set to proceed on the single remaining claim.Last year, Aerosmith cancelled the rest of their AeroVederci tour, sparking concern over Tyler’s health. In a statement posted on the band’s official website, Tyler wrote, “I give you all an A+ for creative speculations but I certainly did not have a heart attack or a seizure (unless Joe Perry is taking’ a ripping’ lead). Sorry to have cut the tour short but I had to have a procedure that only my doc in the States could perform.”He went on to add, “It breaks my heart to have left this tour early. The band has never played better. Just watch the 100,000 people at Rock in Rio. We’ve been to Tel Aviv…to Russia… to Rio… and all the in between… I guess it’s true what they say, ‘That life’s a pisser when eu’re a peeing’.”
