Famous director S.S. Rajamouli’s recent comments have sparked controversy. The controversy stems from a comment he allegedly made about Lord Hanuman at the ‘Globe Trotter’ festival held in Hyderabad to promote the upcoming film ‘Varanasi’. Some accused him of saying, “I don’t believe in Hanuman,” amid some technical glitches during the event. An organization called ‘Vanara Sena’ has filed a complaint with the police, claiming that this is an idea that hurts the sentiments of Hindus.

Probe initiated into the allegation

As per ANI, officials said the complaint was filed at Hyderabad’s Saroornagar police station on Tuesday. The petition filed by the Vanara Sena organization alleged that Rajamouli insulted the deity and hurt Hindu religious sentiments. Meanwhile, the police have not registered any case yet. “We have received a complaint, but the investigation is ongoing,” a police officer explained to ANI. It is also reported that the legal aspects of registering a complaint are being studied.
