SRK’s King set for release on Christmas 2026?

Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone starrer 'King' set to release on Christmas 2026, official announcement to come soon: Report

Fans have been waiting anxiously for the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s next film after the huge success of ‘Pathaan’ followed by ‘Jawan’. He’s currently shooting for ‘King’ and the first look of it was released on his birthday in 2025. Fans are excited more as it’s directed by ‘Pathaan’ director Siddharth Anand and also boasts of an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma among others. The makers are yet to announce the film’s release date but according to a latest report, they’ve locked in Christmas 2026. A source was quoted by Bollywood Hungama, saying, “The duo of SRK and Sid were brainstorming several options for their release, and the two in the forefront were – December 4 and December 25. After weighing all options, they have locked a Christmas 2026 release for their action packed entertainer.”

How Suhana Khan Makes Decisions with SRK and Gauri

The source further revealed to the portal as to why the film will not arrive on the traditionally favoured December 4 slot. “SRK and Sid are clear in maintaining a gap from Ramayana, which could go on to record a historic business. They don’t want to come and hurt the business of this divine saga in any way, and hence have locked a Christmas 2026 release. This ensures a gap of 45 days between Ramayana and King, giving both the films the breathing space that they deserve. ”With its Christmas release, ‘King’ is expected to enjoy a largely uncontested run at the box office, as no major Hindi releases are currently planned for that period. While Hollywood’s Avengers: Doomsday is slated to arrive a week earlier, the source said further, “There is Avengers: Doomsday a week before, but Hollywood films are frontloaded and for the Hindi cinema audience, there’s nothing that can top the experience of watching a Shah Rukh Khan film on the big screen.”The report has further stated that the official announcement regarding the film’s release date will be made in the coming week.
