Neeraj Ghaywan’s emotional drama ‘Homebound’ has become the centre of attention once again as it moves closer to the Oscars International Feature Film shortlist for the 98th Academy Awards. The film, starring Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa, is India’s official entry in the category, and now it has received a glowing review from Shah Rukh Khan himself.With the shortlist set to be revealed on Tuesday, December 16 2025, SRK’s praise has added new excitement and hope for the film’s journey.

About ‘Homebound’

‘Homebound’ is inspired by the real-life story of two best friends. Its gentle tone and sincere emotions have connected with audiences both in India and abroad. The film had its world premiere months earlier in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where viewers praised its heartfelt approach and sensitive storytelling.The film released in Indian cinemas in September this year and was widely praised for its emotional depth and strong performances by Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa. Even though the film received critical acclaim, it did not see a strong run in theatres. After its theatrical run, ‘Homebound’ became available on OTT.
