‘SRK has never told Gauri he’s tired, he’s been a hands-on father’

Shah Rukh Khan’s bonding with his children Suhana Khan, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan is hard to miss every time they make a public appearance. Now his former security chief, Yaseen Khan, has opened up about the superstar’s deeply involved role as a father, calling him one of the most hands-on parents he has encountered. Yaseen, who managed security for Shah Rukh and his family for a decade from 2001 to 2011, continues to cross paths with the family through his own security agency, which now caters to several high-profile celebrities and cricketers.Having known Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan since their school days, Yaseen even trained Aryan in karate and witnessed his early interest in sports. Recalling a fond memory, he said, “Aryan trained in gymnastics for some time. He does really nice somersaults. A few years ago, when I met him, after catching up, he told me, ‘You used to say I can’t do this somersault, right?’ He showed me that somersault right then! He’s a lot into sports, just like his father.”He further praised Aryan’s upbringing, revealing that he carries forward his father’s grounded nature and discipline. “Aryan is a very nice kid. Right from the start, he used to treat the elders with respect. Shah Rukh sir has always taught him that,” Yaseen added.Speaking about Shah Rukh’s parenting, Yaseen said he has rarely seen a celebrity so actively involved in his children’s lives. “He’d always attends their sports programmes. He’d drop them to school whenever he was in town irrespective of how exhausted he was. The best thing about him was that even when he was shooting in the US, he’d study on his own and then teach his children online for their exams,” he revealed.Despite his demanding schedule, Shah Rukh made it a point to prioritise family time. Yaseen shared that the actor would take a two-month break every year to spend time with his loved ones in London. During these vacations, he and his children would often play football at Hyde Park with Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, and Sanjay Kapoor along with their families. “In my 10 years, I’d never seen him tell Gauri bhabhi, ‘I’m tired, I won’t come.’ He’s always ready for family,” Yaseen said, referring to Gauri Khan.When Yaseen decided to step away from his role in 2011 due to personal reasons, Shah Rukh reportedly bid him farewell warmly, assuring him that he would always be welcome back. Reflecting on his journey, Yaseen shared how the experience transformed his life. “My life was whatever Shah Rukh sir’s life was. I used to travel around the globe in private planes, stay in five star hotels, and had eight passports completely stamped. When I joined Shah Rukh sir, I saw a plane for the first time,” he said.Today, Yaseen runs a leading security agency that has handled arrangements for several high-profile events, including the weddings of Anushka Sharma–Virat Kohli, Priyanka Chopra–Nick Jonas, Sidharth Malhotra–Kiara Advani, and Akash Ambani–Shloka Ambani.
