Sonu Nigam rents out commercial property in Mumbai for Rs 19 lakh per month, set to earn Rs 12.62 crore over five years - Report

Bollywood’s beloved playback singer Sonu Nigam has struck a high-profile property deal. He has leased out a premium commercial space in Santacruz East for a massive monthly rent of Rs 19 lakh, showing how top celebrities are tapping into the city’s booming property market.According to property documents accessed by Square Yards on the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) portal, the agreement was formally registered in December 2025.

Lease covers spacious property in the Trade Centre

As per the reports, the leased space is located in Trade Centre BKC and spans an impressive 4,257 sq. ft. (approximately 395 sq. m.). The agreement included a stamp duty of Rs 3.27 lakh and registration fees of Rs 1,000. A security deposit of Rs 90 lakh was also paid.

Sonu Nigam set to earn over Rs 12 crore in 5 years

The lease has been signed for five years. The first-year rent is fixed at Rs 19 lakh per month and will increase to Rs 20 lakh in the second year, a rise of 5.26 per cent. From the third year onwards, the rent will increase by 5 per cent annually, reaching Rs 21 lakh in year three, Rs 22.05 lakh in year four, and Rs 23.15 lakh in the fifth year. Over five years, the total rental payout is projected at Rs 12.62 crore.
