Sonakshi’s cousin on family issues after marriage to Zaheer

Sonakshi Sinha’s cousin Pooja Ruparel clears the air on family issues after her marriage to Zaheer Iqbal, 'Shatrughan uncle would never...'

Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with Zaheer Iqbal in June 2024, in an intimate ceremony attended only by close family and friends. While fans and well-wishers celebrated the union, social media buzzed with trolling and rumours about tensions within her family, especially since her brothers Luv and Kush were absent from the wedding. Now, her cousin Pooja Ruparel has stepped in to clear the air.

“Family fully supported her”

Pooja, who is known for her role as Chutki in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, told Hindi Rush, “When people are famous, there is controversy. Everyone was supportive of Sonakshi’s wedding. Both sides were present. I know Shatrughan uncle would never go against Sonakshi’s decision; she is the apple of his eye. He may scold his sons, but Sonakshi? Never. He is strict with everyone, but not with her.”

“Sonakshi and Zaheer made a thoughtful decision”

Addressing rumours about family clashes, Pooja said, “Sonakshi is truly happy with Zaheer. It’s not like she made this decision overnight. They were together for many years, and this was a well-thought-out decision.”

Sonakshi Sinha Shares Cute Moment With Zaheer Iqbal Amid Pregnancy Speculations

She added, “People shouldn’t interfere in others’ lives. If there had been something like a slap or an argument, I’d understand. But nothing of that sort happened.”Pooja also dismissed speculation about disagreements with Sonakshi’s brothers, Luv and Kush, calling it a personal matter. She revealed that she has met Zaheer and found him “very funny”.Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding was a private affair, with only family and a few close friends in attendance.
