Sonakshi Sinha shuts down pregnancy rumours

Sonakshi Sinha shuts down pregnancy rumours with a savage comeback, '16 months and counting'

Sonakshi Sinha recently became the centre of social media chatter after she appeared at an event in Mumbai wearing a striking red outfit. A section of the internet speculated that the actress was trying to conceal a baby bump with her hand while posing for the cameras. However, Sonakshi has now put all rumours to rest, and in classic Sonakshi style, with humour and grace. On Thursday, Sonakshi shared a carousel of pictures from Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali celebration, which she attended with husband Zaheer Iqbal. While the first few images showed her exuding elegance in a traditional anarkali, the last picture had the couple laughing their hearts out.In the caption, Sonakshi wrote, “World record holder for longest pregnancy in human history (16 months and counting according to our lovely and hyper-intelligent media) simply for posing with a hand around midsection. Scroll to last slide for our reaction… and then continue to dazzle this Diwali.” The witty post instantly struck a chord with fans and industry friends. Celebrities like Kusha Kapila, Iulia Vantur, and Shilpa Shirodkar dropped laughing emojis in the comments, while fans flooded the post with laughter and love, praising Sonakshi’s sense of humour and sass.

Zaheer joins the fun

Interestingly, during the same Diwali bash, Zaheer Iqbal also took a playful dig at the rumours. While posing for the paparazzi, he jokingly placed his hand on Sonakshi’s midriff, pretending to confirm the speculation. Moments later, he laughed it off and told photographers, “Sambhaal ke,” as Sonakshi moved ahead for solo shots, clarifying that it was all in jest.

A love story that began at a Salman Khan party

Sonakshi and Zaheer’s relationship goes way back. The two first crossed paths at one of Salman Khan’s parties in 2013, but it wasn’t until 2017, at the after-party of Tubelight, that sparks truly flew. After dating for nearly seven years, they tied the knot in 2024 through a civil ceremony under the Special Marriage Act at Sonakshi’s Mumbai residence, surrounded by family and close friends.
