SJ Suryah reacts to the possibility of ‘Kushi 2’

'If God wills, it will happen': SJ Suryah reacts to the possibility of 'Kushi 2' with Vijay's son and Jyotika's daughter

More than two decades after ‘Kushi’ became one of Tamil cinema’s most loved romantic entertainers, director SJ Suryah has once again sparked conversations about a possible sequel. During the film’s re-release event, the filmmaker was asked whether ‘Kushi 2’ could become a reality. While he did not confirm any plans, his answer has since gone viral among fans, many of whom are wondering if the beloved love story will return to the big screen in some new form.

SJ Suryah shares his honest thoughts on ‘Kushi 2’

Responding to questions about making ‘Kushi 2’ with Vijay’s son Sanjay and Jyothika’s daughter, SJ Suryah gave a thoughtful reply. “Some miracles cannot be created. They have to happen on their own. If God has planned it, everything will happen,” he said, as reported by News 18. He also recalled how ‘Kushi’ came together in the first place. “When I narrated the story to Vijay, he didn’t react much. I thought he didn’t like it and even asked if I should narrate another story. But he simply said, ‘No, this is good. Let’s do this one.’ I was surprised because he expressed his approval so casually,” the director shared.

Director recalls the journey behind ‘Kushi’ success

SJ Suryah also reflected on what made ‘Kushi’ special. “The core idea of ‘Kushi’ and the way the story was narrated were different. Deva’s music played a huge role in the film’s success. The tune for ‘Kattipudi Kattipudi’ was inspired by the song ‘Senthamizh Then Mozhiyal.’ If you sing that song faster, you’ll notice the similarity,” he explained. His comments offered fans a nostalgic look back at the making of the blockbuster, which remains one of the biggest milestones in Vijay and Jyothika’s careers.

More about ‘Kushi’

Released in 2000, ‘Kushi’ was a blockbuster hit and still has a huge number of fans to date. The director of the movie was S.J. Suryah, and it had the lead roles played by Vijay and Jyothika. Also starring in the movie were Vivek, Mumtaj, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vijayakumar, among many other actors playing important roles. The music of the movie was scored by Deva, and the songs are still liked by the viewers. Go to Source
