Singer Madhushree REACTS to Arijit’s post: ‘Great decision’

Singer Madhushree of 'Kabhi Neem Neem' fame REACTS to Arijit Singh’s retirement announcement; says, 'It's a great decision'

Acclaimed vocalist Madhushree has expressed her admiration for Arijit Singh’s bold choice to leave playback singing behind, describing it as a brave decision amid his successful career. She reflects on how he might resonate with legends like Lata Mangeshkar, who also sought new artistic horizons after reaching their saturation point.

Arijit Singh’s retirement from playback singing announcement has left everyone shocked. Several celebs have expressed their opinions about his decision to step away. And now, singer Madhushree, known for the song ‘Kabhi Kabhi Neem Neem’ from the film ‘Yuva’, has reacted to Singh’s social media post. Let’s take a look at what she has to say.

Singer Madhushree shares her opinion about Arijit Singh’s decision to step away from playback singing

Madhushree shared a video on her YouTube channel sharing her thoughts. In the video, she said, “Aajkal sab log mujhe pooch rahe hain, ‘Madhushree ji, Arijit Singh ne jo decision liya hai, uske baare mein aap kya sochti hain?’ Pehle toh main bhi surprise ho gayi thi, lekin baad mein maine socha—it’s a great decision. Unhone bahut achha kaam kiya hai (Nowadays, everyone is asking me, ‘Madhushree ji, what do you think about the decision Arijit Singh has taken?’ At first, I was also surprised, but later I thought—it’s a great decision. He has done a very good thing).”She further stated that it takes a lot of courage to take such a decision at the peak of a career. She said, “Actually, Arijit Singh itni kam umar mein India ke number one playback singer ban gaye. Har film mein unka gaana hota tha, aur woh superhit hota tha. Hit pe hit, hit pe hit dete hi rahe. Aur usi waqt unhone announce kar diya ki ab woh sirf independent music mein kaam karenge, playback mein nahi. Yeh bahut bada decision hai. Aisa faisla lene ke liye dum hona chahiye (Actually, Arijit Singh became India’s number one playback singer at a very young age. Almost every film featured his song, and those songs went on to become superhits. He delivered hit after hit, one after another. And at such a time, he announced that he would work only in independent music and not in playback singing. That is a very big decision. One needs real courage to take such a call).”

Madhushree recalls the words of the late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar

In the same video, Madhushree recalled the words said by the late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. She said, “Lata ji se kisi ne poocha tha, ‘Aap agle janam mein kya banna chahti hain?’ Toh unhone kaha, ‘Kuch bhi bano, lekin Lata Mangeshkar nahi’ (Someone once asked her, ‘What would you like to be in your next birth?’ She replied, ‘Whatever I become, I do not want to be Lata Mangeshkar again’).”She added, “Actually, Lata ji ek ke baad ek hit de rahi thi. Har film mein gaa rahi thi. Gaate-gaate unhe ek saturation aa gaya tha. Uske baad kya? Unhone zindagi kabhi jee hi nahi (Actually, Lata ji was delivering hit after hit and singing for every film. While singing continuously, she reached a saturation point. What next? She never really lived life beyond that).”

Conclusion

Madhushree concluded her video, saying, “Toh Arijit ne bhi kuch aisa hi socha hai. Main unhe dil se mubarakbaad dena chahti hoon aur unke bright future ke liye dua karti hoon (So Arijit, too, seems to have thought along similar lines. I would like to congratulate him wholeheartedly and pray for his bright future).” Go to Source
