Shriya Pilgaonkar, actress and daughter of veteran actor Sachin Pilgaonkar, has been roped in to join the cast of director Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller, ‘Haiwaan’, which stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. The film officially commenced shooting in Kochi on Saturday, August 23, and marks the highly anticipated on-screen reunion of Akshay and Saif after 17 years since their last collaboration, ‘Tashan’.Pilgaonkar, known for her acclaimed performances in web series like ‘Mirzapur,’ ‘Guilty Minds’ and ‘The Broken News’, will be seen in a pivotal role.

The film marks a significant return for Shriya Pilgaonkar to mainstream cinema after her success on streaming platforms. She was last seen in a cameo in the series ‘Mandala Murders’. According to the Hollywood Reporter India, a source close to the production confirmed that the actress has joined the cast and is set to begin filming soon.

‘Haiwaan’ is produced by the same banner behind the upcoming film ‘Toxic’, starring ‘KGF’ star Yash. While details of Shriya’s role are currently under wraps, her addition to the cast added further anticipation to this high-octane thriller.

A video from the set, shared by Akshay Kumar, showed the actors in a lighthearted moment, with Saif Ali Khan remarking on their long-overdue reunion. This reunion is a major draw for the film, and fans are thrilled to see the duo back together.The film also features veteran actor Boman Irani and is reportedly a Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam thriller ‘Oppam’, which starred Mohanlal. It is rumored that Akshay Kumar will play the antagonist, a role that will see him explore a darker shade on screen.
