According to the reports, the movie is based on a legendary Tamasha artist, Vithabai. For those who are unaware, she is highly respected among Marathi-speaking audiences who understand folk culture.
Reportedly, she was born in July 1935 in Pandharpur, Solapur district; she belonged to the family of performers. Vithabai started her career at a very young age. She has even earned the President’s Award for her contributions to folk culture twice—first in 1957 and then in 1990.Vithabai was known for her energy, powerful voice, and dance performances.
