Shraddha Kapoor and Dinesh Vijan confirm Chhoti Stree will unlock Stree’s backstory ahead of Stree 3: 'It’ll transition from animation to live-action'

Shraddha Kapoor has confirmed that Maddock Films’ upcoming animated feature Chhoti Stree will play a decisive role in shaping the plot of Stree 3. Speaking at the trailer launch of Thamma, the actor called the film her “favourite part of the franchise” and revealed that it has been designed not just as a fun spinoff but as an essential prelude to the next live-action chapter.“When Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan) told me about it, I said, ‘Sach mein aapka naam Dinesh Vision hi hona chahiye!’” Shraddha said, adding that Chhoti Stree is crafted for kids, families, and long-time fans alike.

The transition from animation to live action

Producer Dinesh Vijan confirmed that the film will end by directly linking into Stree 3. “The most exciting part is that Chhoti Stree will end with a scene from Stree 3. It’ll transition from animation to live-action, and also answer the question, Stree ki backstory kya hai?” he said.

Release timeline revealed

Set to arrive six months before Stree 3, Chhoti Stree promises to combine laughs with long-awaited answers about the mysterious character at the heart of the franchise. The experiment marks Maddock’s most ambitious expansion yet in its horror-comedy universe.The first Stree (2018), starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, was made on a modest budget of Rs 20 crore and went on to gross more than Rs 180 crore worldwide, establishing the horror-comedy as a bankable genre for Maddock Films.
