Shahid Kapoor led ‘Cocktail 2’ bags ‘A’ from CBFC

Shahid Kapoor led 'Cocktail 2' bags ‘A’ from CBFC, marking first for Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna’s second after 'Animal'

‘Cocktail 2’, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, is set to release on June 19. The film has received an ‘A’ certificate from CBFC with a runtime of 150 minutes. It marks Kriti’s first and Rashmika’s second adult-rated film, while the original ‘Cocktail’ had received a U/A certificate.

Bollywood fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming two weeks, as two big films are gearing up to hit the screens: ‘Cocktail 2’ and ‘Welcome To The Jungle’. The first one to release will be ‘Cocktail 2’, arriving in cinemas on Friday, June 19. The film features Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Ever since the film was announced, it has been creating a huge buzz among moviegoers. The popular franchise name, catchy songs, fresh faces and overall young vibe of the film have got everyone excited about it.

‘Cocktail 2’ advance booking opens, CBFC gives ‘A’ certificate

According to Bollywood Hungama, advance booking for ‘Cocktail 2’ started at midnight on June 14, and fans quickly rushed to book their tickets. Some new details about the film have also been revealed. The CBFC has given the film an ‘A’ certificate, which means only adults can watch it. The film is also quite long, with a total runtime of 150 minutes, which is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

‘Cocktail 2’ marks a milestone moment for Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna and Shahid Kapoor

‘Cocktail 2’ is a special film for all three lead actors in different ways. For Kriti, this is the first time in her 12-year career that she has been part of an adult-rated film. Rashmika, on the other hand, has done one such film before, the blockbuster ‘Animal’ (2023), making ‘Cocktail 2’ her second ‘A’-rated Hindi film. Shahid is no stranger to adult-rated films, as this will be his fifth one, after ‘Kaminey’ (2009), ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016), ‘Kabir Singh’ (2019) and ‘O’Romeo’ (2026).

How ‘Cocktail 2’ differs from the original ‘Cocktail’

The first part of ‘Cocktail’ was released in 2012 and featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, who made her acting debut with the film. Just like ‘Cocktail 2’, the original film was also directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. However, there is one key difference between the two films. Unlike the sequel, the first part received a U/A certificate from the CBFC, meaning it was suitable for all audiences. The original film’s runtime was 146 minutes, making it four minutes shorter than ‘Cocktail 2’. Go to Source
