Despite opening with promise, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O Romeo’ has fallen short of box office expectations, posting Rs 59.05 crore domestically and Rs 92.95 crore globally. While critics offered a lukewarm response and revenue declined after the first weekend, director Vishal Bhardwaj has nonetheless described it as his most successful film, emphasizing personal pride over commercial and critical metrics.

Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O’ Romeo’ was expected to be the film that would bring back glory days to the actor. However, the film disappointed the audience and failed to pull them into theaters. Despite low box office earnings, Vishal Bhardwaj called ‘O’ Romeo’ one of his most successful movies. He told PTI, “I need to say this to break the hearts of critics who panned the film. No matter what they felt, this is going to be the most successful film of my life. I am so proud of this film. I am not ashamed of it at all.”Directed by Vishal, the film features Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. It also stars Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, and Vikrant Massey. The film was released in theaters on February 13, 2026.
