Shah Rukh Khan delves into being the next Bond

Shah Rukh Khan delves into being the next Bond; credits Kajol for his romantic film streak: 'I don't have the accent'

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan was asked if he would be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig’s farewell in No Time To Die. Shah Rukh joked about lacking the accent and preferring romantic films with Kajol. His recent hits include Dunki and award-winning Jawan. Next up is King with daughter Suhana Khan.

Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond ends with No Time To Die, leaving fans wondering who will be next to take on the legendary role. Among the many actors rumored, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Callum Turner’s names have come up frequently. But what about Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan? While visiting London to unveil a bronze statue alongside his DDLJ co-star Kajol, Shah Rukh was asked if he would consider playing 007.

Shah Rukh Khan’s candid thoughts on James Bond role

When asked about his future plans after dabbling in action films, Shah Rukh was questioned if he saw himself as the next James Bond. He candidly replied, “No, I don’t have the accent. I don’t like shaken martini (referring to Bond’s choice of drinks). I haven’t done too many action films, actually. I was always wanting to do an action film, but then Kajol was in my life, and you can’t do action films when Kajol is acting opposite you. So I did all the romantic films!”.

Kajol’s playful reminder

During the discussion, Kajol, sitting beside Khan, playfully reminded him that he had worked on many films beyond their collaborations. Shah Rukh acknowledged this, saying, “Yeah, but the ones we are known for are the ones we have done together. We can’t deny that. So, I just did a few action films because I always felt I could. I did it a little late in the day. I think I enjoyed it. I don’t know James Bond, but Sean Connery for sure, yeah!”.

History of James Bond actors

Many actors have brought James Bond to life over the years, including legends like Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig’s final appearance as 007 was in No Time to Die. As of now, no official word has been given about who will step into Bond’s shoes next. The next Bond film is expected to be directed by Denis Villeneuve, famous for his work on Dune.

Shah Rukh Khan’s recent work and upcoming projects

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in the theatrical film ‘Dunki’. He recently won the National Award for Best Actor for his role in ‘Jawan’. Next, he will star in ‘King’, a film that will also feature his daughter, Suhana Khan. The movie is planned for release in 2026. Go to Source
