Shabana Azmi on how not being able to be a mother simplified certain aspects of her life

In an earlier appearance on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal in 2000, Shabana Azmi had talked about her acceptance and what followed that decision. The actress had revealed why she didn’t opt to adopt, saying, “I never wanted to adopt a child. No. Well, because I am very friendly with Javed’s kids, so that need was fulfilled.”She stated that her husband’s kids were grown up at that time, and she never had to worry about changing their “nappies” or the children getting infected by malaria. She had said, “They are bright children with whom I exchange ideas, and it’s wonderful to have them at this age, where they fight back with you, and you can see new ideas germinating in them as they are having a conversation with you. That’s an age group I like very much.”Shabana Azmi said that not being able to be a mother also simplified a lot of things in her life. She said that because of the same, she could give more time. She added, “because I think motherhood is very demanding.”
