Sebastian Stan opens up about playing iconic villain Two-Face; teases 'many roles' in Robert Pattinson-led 'The Batman: Part II'

Sebastian Stan’s Marvel superhero days are long behind him. The actor, best known for playing the role of the Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes, will soon cross over into the DC Universe, as the iconic Batman villain Two-Face in the Robert Pattinson-led ‘The Batman: Part II’.The actor, who made waves at Cannes for his turn in the film ‘Fjord’, teased his transformation into Harvey Dent, Gotham’s idealistic district attorney who eventually descends into madness and becomes the villain known as Two-Face.While promoting his film that won the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, Stan teased he will play “many roles in this one.”Having already established himself within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the role marks Stan’s first major entry into DC Universe territory. Sharing his thoughts about taking on the role and collaborating with hair and makeup teams to create the character’s new look, he said, “I’m excited, I’m nervous and trying to keep surprising myself.”As per reports, the film will likely portray Dent’s evolution from the charming District Attorney to the famed Two Face, after underworld figure Sal “Boss” Maroni throws acid in his face, permanently disfiguring one side of his face. Reports suggest that ‘The Batman: Part II’ will delve deeper into Harvey Dent’s backstory and will also shed a light on Bruce Wayne’s journey, besides playing the Batman. Former ‘Game of Thrones’ star, Charles Dance is reportedly set to play Dent’s father Christopher, while Scarlett Johansson is rumoured to portray his wife Gilda. The sequel once again sees Matt Reeves returning as director and co-writer following the critical and commercial success of 2022’s ‘The Batman’.
