Saurabh on working with Ranbir, mentoring Raghav

Acting coach Saurabh Sachdeva on working with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal, mentoring Raghav Juyal: ‘He is a curious human being'

Actor and acting coach Saurabh Sachdeva, who runs the school The Actor’s Truth, has mentored some of the biggest names in the industry including Anushka Sharma, Varun Dhawan, Rana Daggubati, Richa Chadha, Triptii Dimri, Dulquer Salmaan and John Abraham. In a recent chat, he reflected on working with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal and also opened up about guiding Raghav Juyal in his transition from a hosting background to acting.

On Ranbir Kapoor’s curiosity

Speaking on Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa’s YouTube podcast, Saurabh recalled his experience of working with Ranbir in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. “It was very amazing. He is a curious human being. He wants to know everything about you. He just sits on the side and starts talking,” he shared. The actor revealed that Ranbir even showed interest in learning his mask work technique. “He spoke to me a lot about my technique and I told him about my mask work. He said that he also wanted to do it. I told him that we will do. It was fun. Curiosity is the best friend of an artiste,” Saurabh said.

Mentoring Raghav Juyal

Saurabh also spoke about mentoring actor and dancer Raghav Juyal, who initially came from a hosting and dancing background. According to him, Raghav’s natural instinct was always to joke, whether about the audience, himself or the situation. “When Raghav came after a hosting and dancing background, his interest was always stealing something from someone and giving it to them. He always had to joke about the audience, himself, or the situation,” he explained.

‘Animal’ Fame Saurabh Sachdeva on Ranbir Kapoor, finding success and Bobby Deol’s comeback

However, Saurabh emphasized that the shift from stage to cinema required a completely different approach. “Now, he doesn’t have to joke. He has to connect with the other person and accept him. And then, he cannot turn it into a joke. He has to take the scene forward, building on the same emotion,” he pointed out.

Raghav’s struggles and growth

The acting coach revealed that it wasn’t an easy transition for Raghav, who had to unlearn his old habits. “It was very difficult for him to change that in the beginning. He struggled a lot and did many courses to understand this. He actually cut that. There’s a huge difference between today’s Raghav and how he was earlier,” Saurabh shared. On the acting front, Saurabh Sachdeva will next be seen in Baaghi 4 alongside Tiger Shroff. Go to Source
