Satish Shah had proposed to his wife Madhu three times

Satish Shah had proposed to his wife Madhu Shah three times, here's all you need to know about their love story

Veteran actor Satish Shah, known for iconic films like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, and ‘Om Shanti Om’, passed away on October 25 at the age of 74. The cause of death was kidney failure, he had undergone a transplant three months ago and actor Sachin Pilgaonkar revealed that he got a transplant done just because he wanted to live more for his wife Madhu Shah. But unfortunately, destiny had other plans. The actor breathed his last at his residence in Bandra. Here’s how Satish and Madhu’s love story had begun. Born on June 25, 1951, in Mandvi, Gujarat, Satish Shah had a long and celebrated career in Indian cinema and television. His love story with Madhu Shah began at the SIFTA Film Festival, where he fell in love with her at first sight. Initially, Madhu turned down his proposal — not once, but twice. He proposed to her for the second time during ‘Saath Saath’ which starred Deepti Naval and Farooq Shaikh. She rejected it again. But Shah didn’t give up. His persistence paid off when, on the third attempt, Madhu asked him to meet her parents. After winning their approval, the two got engaged and tied the knot eight months later in 1972.

Satish Shah, Beloved ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ Star, Passes Away at 74

Their marriage lasted for over five decades. Madhu, a designer by profession, mostly stayed away from the limelight, quietly supporting her husband’s illustrious journey in front of the camera. Media reports suggest that the couple didn’t have children, choosing instead to dedicate their lives to each other. Clearly, their love story, build on trust and respect is deeply inspiring. Satish Shah began his acting career in 1970 with the film ‘Bhagwan Parshuram’, but it was the 1984 TV show ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’ that made him a household name. Over the years, he became one of the most beloved comic actors in India, appearing in blockbusters. However, since the last many years, he’s largely remembered for his iconic show ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ and for playing the character of Indravadhan Sarabhai. Fans have been mourning his death and expressed that this feels like a personal loss to them because his characters, especially Indravadhan felt like a part of their family and growing up years.
