While Sara was making headlines at Royal Ascot, her father Saif Ali Khan was attending a significant event of his own in England. The actor took part in a special ceremony at Winchester College, where a commemorative plaque was unveiled in honour of his father, the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, fondly known as Tiger Pataudi. The plaque was installed at the college’s historic cricket pavilion, Hunter Tent.

Speaking at the event, Saif reflected on his father’s deep connection with the institution and expressed gratitude for the tribute.”As a former pupil of Winchester College myself, it’s a great privilege to return here today to honour my father’s legacy. It was a place he spoke of with great affection, not only for the sport but for the friendships, values and experiences that shaped him,” he said.”Our family is immensely proud and grateful that Winchester College has chosen to honour him in this way. We hope this plaque will inspire future generations of pupils, just as Winchester inspired him,” he added.

Sir Richard Stagg, Warden of Winchester College, described Tiger Pataudi as one of the institution’s most distinguished former students and a cricketing icon.”Tiger Pataudi remains one of the most distinguished figures in the history of cricket, and a source of immense pride to Winchester College. He was a cricketing prodigy at the School, beating a record for runs scored in a season set by Douglas Jardine in 1919. He went on to become a great cricketer and a leader of Indian cricket,” he said.Stagg also noted that the tribute celebrated the enduring cultural and sporting ties between India and the United Kingdom through their shared love of cricket. As Sara turned heads at one of Britain’s most glamorous social events, Saif spent the day honouring a sporting legend whose legacy continues to inspire generations on and off the cricket field.
