Sara Arjun to lead Heer Ranjha? Mukesh Chhabra shuts down buzz

'Dhurandhar The Revenge' star Sara Arjun to lead 'Heer Ranjha'? Mukesh Chhabra shuts down buzz: ‘Hasn’t signed any film’

Sara Arjun impressed in Dhurandhar and awaits Dhurandhar 2. Casting rumors linked her to Heer Ranjha, but Mukesh Chhabra clarified on X: “Sara hasn’t signed any film—waiting for D2. All else is rumors.” Ekta Kapoor mocked similar buzz sarcastically.

Sara Arjun impressed everyone with her role as Yalina Jamali Mazari in Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ and will soon return in the sequel, ‘Dhurandhar-The Revenge’. Just days ago, media buzz hinted she could be the female lead in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Heer Ranjha,’ but there was no official confirmation. Now, casting director Mukesh Chhabra has shut down those rumors, confirming Sara Arjun hasn’t signed any other projects and is waiting for Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ to release.

Sara Arjun waits for ‘Dhurandhar 2’

On March 7, Mukesh Chhabra posted a photo of Sara on X (formerly Twitter). In the caption, he made it clear that the actress hasn’t signed any other films yet and is simply awaiting the March 19 release of ‘Dhurandhar 2’. “Sara Arjun has not signed any other film. We are just waiting for D 2. She has not signed any film and has not met anyone regarding any project. So please relax, guys. I will personally update you about her next project. Just wait all the other news is only rumours,” he wrote.

Sara Arjun as top pick for ‘Heer Ranjha’

A few days back, Mid-Day reported that Sara is the top choice for the main girl role in Sajid Ali’s movie Heer Ranjha. They want a new face, and Sara fits well. The team is looking for a relatively fresh face. After ‘Dhurandhar’, Sara has emerged as one of the most promising young actors today. She is among the strongest names being evaluated for Heer. Backed by Imtiaz Ali as presenter and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Preety Ali of Pi – Films Pvt Ltd, the film is generating buzz.

Sara Arjun rumors get Ekta Kapoor’s dig

Not long ago, Ekta Kapoor took a sly dig at rumors linking Sara Arjun to the cast. She shared a news portal’s screenshot that claimed Sara Arjun and Rohit Saraf were onboard for Heer Ranjha, and quipped: “Need great scriptwriters in fiction. Wanna join? You all write great fiction.” She stopped short of saying if her remark was about Sara, Rohit, or both. Go to Source
