Sanjay Gupta criticises Baaghi 4 ‘BOGO’ offer

Sanjay Gupta cryptically criticises 'Buy One Get One' ticket offer for Sanjay Dutt, Tiger Shroff's 'Baaghi 4': 'Why even make films?'

Film-maker Sanjay Gupta, known for making movies like ‘Kaante’, ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’ and more dropped a cryptic note about a film, criticising the ‘Buy One Get One’ offer. While he did not name the movie in his note, his message was quite obvious. Only two movies have released this Friday – ‘Baaghi 4’ and ‘The Bengal Files’. Out of these, ‘Baaghi 4’ has a one plus one offer on the opening day. The film has a big name like Sanjay Dutt along with Tiger Shroff who is also a star now and leading this particular action genre. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Big Budget. Big Producer. Big Star. First Friday. One Plus One Free. What times are we living in? Why even make films?” Several users on the internet, reacted to his tweet. Actor Pushkar Jog responded to him and said, “Cost of production is the winner sir .. Actor fees , Their entourage fees totally wastage ..” A user said, “U missed the points of Corporate booking by the production houses themselves And then Paid reviews all over social media. And after all these tricks, movie got bumped at Box Office.” Another person said, “Desperate Times Desperate Measures.” A user wrote, “You’re late sir. Son of Sardar 2 was already released 35 days ago. Their film already had everything you mentioned above. And if you were silent at that time, then please keep quiet now. If big stars can do these things why can’t the makers of Baaghi 4?” While ‘Baaghi 4’ will have a decent opening today, it will largely be due to block bookings and this offer. One shall have to wait to see if the momentum continues over the weekend. The film may end up garnering Rs 9-10 crore on Friday. Meanwhile, ‘The Bengal Files’ had a slow start. But ‘Baaghi 4’ is facing a tough competition from the Hollywood horror franchise, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ which had a better number than the Tiger Shroff starrer.
