Salman Khan’s ‘Maatrubhumi’ new poster confirms 2026 theatrical release amid delay reports

Salman Khan’s talked about film, ‘Maatrubhumi’ which has been facing multiple delays has a new update. On Monday, the makers of the film released a new poster confirming that Bhaijaan’s upcoming war drama will arrive in theatres in 2026.

‘Maatrubhumi’ new poster

Sharing the poster on X, the production house wrote, “A soldier’s promise. A family’s strength. A nation’s pride.” The new poster has once again increased excitement among fans who have been waiting for an official update on the film’s release. Giving attention to the post, the latest poster does not mention the director’s name. Instead, it simply says, “A Film By Salman Khan Films.” However, the makers have not shared any explanation regarding the change.

‘Maatrubhumi’ initial title

Earlier this year, the film’s title was changed from ‘Battle of Galwan’ to ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.’ Along with the title announcement, Salman Khan had shared a poster carrying the message, “May War Rest in Peace.”

About the film

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, ‘Maatrubhumi’ is inspired by the June 15, 2020, Galwan Valley clash, where Indian soldiers fought Chinese troops in hand-to-hand combat along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The clash claimed the lives of 20 Indian soldiers and became one of the most serious military confrontations between India and China in recent decades.In the film, Salman Khan plays Colonel Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who led his soldiers during the border conflict.Along with Salman Khan, the film stars Chitrangda Singh as the female lead. Abhilash Chaudhary and Ankur Bhatia will also be seen in important roles.The music for the film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya.Although the makers are yet to announce the exact release date, they have confirmed that it will be released in the current year.
