Bollywood entourage cost of big stars is a topic that has been doing rounds for a while now. From lavish teams to personal assistants and chefs, the discussion around who pays for what on set has gained momentum. Amid this, choreographers Piyush Bhagat and Shazia Samji, who have years of experience in the industry, shared their views on rising costs. They explained that some big stars, like Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, often cover personal expenses themselves rather than asking producers to pay.
Choreographers reveal Salman Khan brings food truck
Piyush and Shazia revealed that Salman Khan brings his own food truck to film sets. Speaking to Hindi Rush, they said, “When Salman Khan had called us… Everyone knows that a food tent is set up on his films. The Being Human truck is present on his every shoot and they serve the yummiest food. I remember having lunch with Bhai and the food tasted better because he was sitting in front of us.”
Piyush and Shazia note Aamir Khan pays driver personally
The choreographers also mentioned Aamir Khan’s approach to entourage costs. They said, “Aamir sir had said that since his driver is working for him and not the film, so why will I take his fees from the producer.”
Choreographers explain actors now act more responsibly
According to Piyush and Shazia, actors have become more conscious of entourage costs due to public discussion and filmmaker scrutiny. “Entourage is ruining the game and a lot of people have spoken against it, but with Tamannaah, she was very professional and she doesn’t let these things happen. Of course, she also has a team, but her professionalism is top notch,” they added.
Piyush and Shazia mention actors hesitating over rising costs
Piyush and Shazia noted that actors are now careful about letting entourage costs get out of hand. “Entourage cost has increased, but because people are speaking against it, so actors have also become hesitant.” These comments come amid criticism of Bollywood stars for their increasing entourage expenses.
Karan Johar on entourage cost of actors
Filmmaker Karan Johar recently discussed the topic, focusing on ethics rather than finances. Speaking to Komal Nahta on Game Changer, he said, “I have an ethical problem with entourages, not a financial one. We set a fixed budget for such needs. But if an actor wants anything beyond that, be it a personal trainer or specific dietary requirements, they should cover the cost themselves. I will pay for it only when it’s essential for the film, like in a sports drama requiring a certain physique.” KJo emphasised that actors should cover extra costs unrelated to the film’s needs.
