‘Then Salman Khan and then Aamir Khan’: Anurag Kashyap picks Shah Rukh Khan as Bollywood's most popular Khans

Anurag Kashyap recently named Shah Rukh Khan as Bollywood’s most popular Khan, followed by Salman and Aamir. While Kashyap hasn’t worked with them, his brother directed Salman. Shah Rukh recently won Best Actor National Award, with upcoming film King. Salman and Aamir have new releases and projects underway.

Anurag Kashyap has openly shared his opinion on who is the most popular among Bollywood’s three Khans. Recently, in an interview, he expressed that Shah Rukh Khan stands out as the most loved and well-known actor among the three, clearly outranking Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in popularity.Anurag Kashyap picks Shah Rukh Khan as Bollywood’s most popular KhanTalking to Komal Nahta, Anurag said, “Lokpriya toh Shah Rukh hi he, Salman he phir Aamir he. Sabse mehnati aur shrewd Aamir he (Shah Rukh is the most popular, then Salman and then Aamir. Aamir is the most hardworking and shrewd). He is a producer.”Family ties and industry collaborationsAlthough Anurag hasn’t directly worked with any of the three Khans, his brother Abhinav Kashyap directed Salman Khan in ‘Dabangg’. After the film’s release, Salman and Abhinav had a fallout and haven’t collaborated since. Anurag and Shah Rukh shared the screen briefly with cameo roles in Zoya Akhtar’s movie ‘Luck by Chance’. Recently, there are rumors about a possible collaboration between Anurag and Salman on an intense cop thriller, with actor Bobby Deol reportedly acting as a mediator between the two despite previous tensions.Recent film releases and honorsMeanwhile, Shah Rukh has not released a movie in the last two years, with his most recent film being ‘Dunki’ in 2023. In September, he was honored with the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in ‘Jawan’. Aamir Khan’s latest appearance was in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, which came out in June 2025. Salman Khan’s recent film ‘Sikandar’ was released during Eid, and he will next be featured in ‘Battle of Galwan’ while currently hosting a television show.Upcoming star-studded projectsShah Rukh Khan’s next film, ‘King’, will also feature Suhana Khan and Deepika Padukone. The title reveal video for ‘King’ was launched on Khan’s birthday, November 2, and received a lot of attention on social media. The movie is scheduled for release in 2026.
