Saiyami Kher reacts to India’s loss against South Africa

‘Ghoomer’ actress Saiyami Kher reacts to India’s loss against South Africa; says, team's body language didn’t ‘feel right’

Wednesday saw the cricket teams of India and South Africa face off in a test series. Team India lost against South Africa by 2-0, and it came after the former’s loss to New Zealand a few months ago. Noting Team Indian’s performance, ‘Ghoomer’ actress Saiyami Kher, who is also a trained cricketer, took to X (formerly called Twitter) to share her review.

Saiyami Kher says THIS on India’s defeat against South Africa

Saiyami Kher expressed her disappointment over Team India’s performance against South Africa. She mentioned that speaking from a fan’s point of few, she felt the team’s body language wasn’t right. She added that the draw in the England series was also not something worth celebrating, as the team could have won. The actress highlighted that the chaos within the team is more concerning than the recent defeats. “As a crazy cricket fan, the atmosphere and body language of the team don’t feel right, just like 2005-07. We should have won the England series, not celebrated a draw. Losing a series isn’t the problem; it’s the chaos within the team that feels concerning. Really hope I am just overthinking this,” wrote Saiyami. “Congratulations SA. The better team won. #IndvsSA #TestCricket,” she concluded.Meanwhile, actor Nakuul Mehta also slammed team coach Gautam Gambhir for the team’s performance and wrote, “Gautam Gambhir might make Greg Chappell look better the way things are going. ZERO accountability.”

Internet reacts

Several internet users agreed with Saiyami Kher. One of the comments on her post read, “Exactly. This is giving Gregg Chappel 2.0 vibes. There’s no unity or drive within the team. Forcing retirements, changing teams and obsession with all rounders makes Gautam Gambhir a disaster.”“Consistently losing home series is a great area of concern. Home pitches have been our strength. I think we need a test specialist team. Batters who can hang around like Rahul D and authentic spinners like Bhajji and Ashwin,” wrote another user.“Rightly said. It does feel like the 2007 world cup team. You can feel how uncomfortable just by looking at them as a unit,” read another comment.
