Saif REVEALS SRK offered him ‘Main Hoon Na’ but THIS happened

Saif Ali Khan REVEALS Shah Rukh Khan offered him 'Main Hoon Na' role; Farah Khan called him and said 'No'

Saif Ali Khan has let slip a little-known behind-the-scenes story – Shah Rukh Khan once personally called him for a role in the 2004 blockbuster ‘Main Hoon Na’, only for director Farah Khan to later put the brakes on it. The revelation came as the two stars gear up for their much-anticipated reunion in ‘Kartavya’, streaming on an OTT platform from May 15, 2026.

Saif Ali Khan opens up about the ‘Main Hoon Na’ call

In conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Saif Ali Khan was asked whether projects feel more exciting when they come from Shah Rukh Khan. His answer came with a candid and amusing anecdote. “Yes, of course. He once called me for Main Hoon Na. He said there’s a great part,” Saif recalled. However, the opportunity did not materialise. “And then, Farah called me later and said no, no, no,” he added, laughing off the memory.

More about ‘Main Hoon Na’

Directed by Farah Khan, ‘Main Hoon Na’ (2004) starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, alongside Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan, and Amrita Rao. The film became one of the biggest hits of that year and continues to enjoy a devoted fanbase more than two decades later.

Saif Ali Khan praises Shah Rukh Khan’s production house

Beyond the anecdote, Saif Ali Khan also had warm words for Shah Rukh’s production banner. “It’s a wonderful production. And I think they pick up really exciting and interesting ideas at Red Chillies. It was very cool to get an offer like that,” he said.

Saif Ali Khan and SRK reunite after years with ‘Kartavya’

The two actors previously shared sizzling screen chemistry in ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, where their portrayals of Rohit and Aman became iconic. In ‘Kartavya’, the dynamic shifts; Shah Rukh steps into the producer’s chair while Saif leads the film, making their reunion all the more intriguing for fans counting down to the Netflix premiere.
