Complainant reportedly first contacted via Instagram message

As per official reports cited by PTI, the complainant stated that she first came in contact with Sanghvi when he sent her a message on Instagram. The musician allegedly promised her a chance in his music album, and they later exchanged phone numbers.

Woman allegedly assaulted inside music studio premises

The complainant claimed that Sanghvi called her to his studio, where he proposed marriage and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. Following this allegation, a police probe was launched, which led to Sanghvi’s arrest under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Here’s what Sanghvi’s lawyer has to say

As reported by India Today, Sanghvi was reportedly arrested after the case was registered, but he was released on bail soon after. Speaking on behalf of the composer, lawyer Aditya Mithe said, “The allegations in the FIR against my client are absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated. There are absolutely no merits to the case. My client’s detention by the police was illegal and that is the reason why he was released on bail immediately. We intended to defend all allegations fully and unequivocally.”

The music duo Sachin-Jigar, consisting of Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya, has contributed to several prominent Bollywood films. Some of their popular soundtracks include in films like ‘Stree’, ‘Bhediya’, and ‘Param Sundari’.
