Rhea Chakraborty recently opened up about her grieving process following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. In conversation with NDTV event, “I wasn’t allowed to grieve. I don’t think that my grieving process is complete. I don’t think that I’m done grieving… I would like to keep my grief personal today. I am relatively happy. Happiness is a byproduct of intense trauma.”
Impact on family and clean chit reaction
At the same event, the actress also spoke about how the case impacted her entire family and their emotional response to receiving clean chit. “Everyone in my house cried that day. I hugged my brother and broke down. When I looked at my parents, I realised we had all changed forever. We were no longer the same carefree family. That moment altered us permanently,” she added.Talking about her reaction, Rhea said, “When I got a clean chit, I wasn’t happy. At the core of it, I knew someone very close to me was gone, and nothing could change that. But I was relieved for my parents. They live in society and constantly face people. For them, things had become very difficult. I thought maybe now they could move around a little more freely.”
Sushant Singh Rajput’s death
Sushant, 34, was found dead at his Bandra home on June 14, 2020.
