Rekha helped Salman Khan with his line: ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’ director says, ‘He didn’t know much’

Salman Khan, this name today needs no introduction. From doing mass entertainer movies to hosting big reality shows, he is everywhere. However, did you know the star who today has endless offers was once so excited to land his first movie that he would bring his own clothes to the set? Salman Khan, who today headlines big-budget films, started his career in 1988 with a supporting role. He played a small part in the Rekha starrer ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi.’ The director of the very movie, JK Bihari, revealed how, back then, the young Salman was so passionate and dedicated. Also, since he had for trained in the field, he learnt on the job, and Rekha was his mentor during ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi.’ Read on to know more about how Rekha helped Salman Khan on the sets of his first film.

It was the first time Salman Khan was facing the camera, cramming dialogues, and everything about the reel was turning real for him. The director Bihari shared that Salman would fumble during his takes and that when Rekha would help him out with his lines. “Sometimes, I would get annoyed because Salman would have problems saying his lines. He was new, didn’t have any training. Rekha would tell me to wait, and she would help him,” shared JK Bihari, during his chat with Siddharth Kannan.The film starred Rekha in the lead role, and Bihari shared that Rekha would spend time teaching Salman when he would fumble during his takes. “Sometimes, I would get annoyed because Salman would have problems saying his lines. He was new, didn’t have any training. Rekha would tell me to wait, and she would help him.”

Salman Khan was always on time, shares JK Bihari

Being fashionably late can be a trend today for several celebrities, but for Salman Khan, back then, it was not a phenomenon at all. JK Bihari shared that during his first movie, Salman would always be on time, and he had no temperamental issues. “Salman was really nice to me back then. There were no problems,” he said before adding, “He was serious, but he didn’t know much back then. You had to be patient to get work out of him. He would always be on time on set.”

Salman Khan, who has recently been busy with the filming of his new movie and hosting the celebrity reality show, took time off to visit his brother Arbaaz Khan, his wife Sshura Khan, and their newborn baby. Sshura gave birth to a baby girl on October 5, 2025, and Salman was spotted outside the hospital with a big smile on his face on October 6, 2025. Go to Source
