Ravi Mohan’s ‘Karathey Babu to clash with Yash’s ‘Toxic’

Ravi Mohan's 'Karathey Babu to clash with Yash's 'Toxic' at the box office, release date of the Political thriller announced

Ravi Mohan is gearing up for the release of his next film, ‘Karathey Babu,’ a political thriller directed by ‘Dada’ fame Ganesh K. Babu. The film has already created curiosity with its teaser and music, and the makers have now officially confirmed its theatrical release. The project marks the production house’s third collaboration with Ravi Mohan after ‘Agilan’ and ‘Brother.’ With a fresh political backdrop and an emotional storyline, ‘Karathey Babu’ is expected to be one of the notable Tamil releases in the second half of the year.

‘Karathey Babu’ to hit theatres worldwide on August 28

Ending weeks of speculation, the makers have announced that ‘Karathey Babu’ will release in theatres across the world on August 28. The film is Ravi Mohan’s 34th outing as a lead actor and is backed by producer Sundar Arumugam on a grand scale. Sam C.S. has composed the music, while the film’s audio rights were recently acquired. With Kannada superstar Yash’s much-awaited pan-India action film ‘Toxic’ scheduled to release on August 26, ‘Karathey Babu’ will head into a high-profile box office clash just two days later. The release date announcement has further raised expectations among fans eager to watch Ravi Mohan in a politically driven role despite the stiff competition.

Ganesh K. Babu promises an emotional political drama

Director Ganesh K. Babu says ‘Karathey Babu’ goes beyond the usual political thriller template. According to him, while many films have explored politicians and power struggles, very few have focused on the personal life, emotions, and relationships of a public representative. He revealed that the story revolves around the lesser-known side of a Member of the Legislative Assembly, blending politics with strong emotional moments. The film introduces Davi Jiwal, daughter of former Tamil Nadu Director General of Police Shankar Jiwal, as the female lead. Veteran actors K.S. Ravikumar, Nassar, and Sakthi Vasu also play pivotal roles.

‘Karathey Babu’ anticipated to have strong box office opening

Apart from its lead cast, ‘Karathey Babu’ features VTV Ganesh, Subramaniam Siva, Kavithalaya Krishnan, Pradeep Antony, Raja Rani Pandian, Sri Dhanya, Sandeep Raviraj, Anandhi, Sindhu Priya, Ajith Ghosh, Kalki Raja, Knife Naren, and several others in important roles. The screenplay has been co-written by Rathna Kumar and Baakiyam Shankar, with action choreography by Dileep Subbarayan. The movie is generating a lot of buzz because of its cinematic visuals, an experienced technical crew, and an intriguing political narrative. With its release now officially set for August 28, ‘Karathey Babu’ is all set for a big screen clash as it aims to make a strong impact at the box office. Go to Source
