FWICE has issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh following his sudden exit from Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’. The complaint was filed through IFTDA, with Excel Entertainment reportedly seeking Rs 40 crore in compensation. The Producers Guild of India may also intervene to resolve the dispute.

The ongoing dispute between Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh over ‘Don 3’ has taken a new turn. Following Ranveer’s exit from the project, Farhan took legal action against the actor, bringing the matter before the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Farhan had filed a formal complaint against Ranveer over his sudden departure from the highly anticipated film. Now, FWICE has finally arrived at a decision in the matter. Ranveer, originally announced as the film’s lead, became the centre of much speculation after reports emerged that the project was put on hold due to differences between him and the filmmakers.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh following his sudden departure from Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’. The decision, which effectively bans the actor and instructs the industry to halt collaborations with him, was announced to the media on Monday after the matter was reviewed last week.According to News18, FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit labeled the situation grave and heavily criticized the growing trend of actors abandoning projects right before filming begins. Pandit addressed the ongoing conflict between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner, Excel Entertainment, noting that the federation would determine its final stance following an internal meeting.

Adding more details, FWICE noted that the complaint had been routed through one of its member associations, the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), with Farhan Akhtar being a registered member of the body. The federation also made it clear that it would share its final decision only after a thorough review of the complaint and a careful assessment of all relevant aspects surrounding the issue.

Ranveer Singh stays silent amid ‘Don 3’ exit rumours and script disputes

The buzz around ‘Don 3’ continued to grow after reports surfaced that Ranveer Singh had chosen to step away from the project. Though the actor has remained tight-lipped and refrained from making any official comment on the rumours, sources within the industry pointed to possible differences over the script and the overall creative vision of the film as the likely reason behind his departure.

Excel Entertainment seeks Rs 40 crore compensation from Ranveer Singh over ‘Don 3’ exit

Amid the ongoing saga, reports suggested that Farhan had started exploring other casting options to fill Ranveer’s shoes in the project. However, the narrative seemingly shifted after ‘Dhurandhar’ performed well, with those replacement plans reportedly being put aside. Around the same time, industry insiders claimed that Ranveer had begun taking stock of his career choices following his recent string of successes. On the financial front, reports indicated that Excel Entertainment was mulling over seeking damages of close to Rs 40 crore, accounting for the money already pumped into pre-production and the disruptions caused to the production schedule. Adding to this, it was further reported that Ranveer had consented to settling the compensation amount.Producers Guild of India may step in to resolve Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Don 3’ disputeAs per industry reports, the production house was of the view that work on the film had progressed with the actor’s knowledge and consent.
