Rani wears neckpiece with Adira’s initials while getting the National award

Rani Mukerji keeps daughter Adira close as she recieves her first National Award, wears a necklace with her initials on it

Rani Mukerji has just bagged her very first National Award for Best Actress, thanks to her moving performance in ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’. The honour was conferred at a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, where the actor made a subtle yet emotional statement with her look.Dressed in a classic brown Sabyasachi saree, Rani exuded elegance. But beyond the attire, what truly melted hearts was her choice of jewellery. a gold necklace engraved with the initials of her daughter, Adira. With this delicate touch, Rani quite literally carried her daughter close to her heart while stepping up to receive the prestigious award. Rani has been married to Aditya Chopra since 2014 and in the year 2015, they welcomed their first child, a daughter who they named Adira, thus an amalgamation of both Aditya and Rani. The ‘Black’ actress opted for a delicate chain with her entire name on it in the form of alphabet pendants and this gesture is just quite adorable. Rani and Aditya have chosent to keep their daughter away from the limelight ever since she’s born. Rani holding her daughter close to her heart while receiving the honour also seems so befitting because, the role that brought her this milestone award also revolves around a mother’s fight for her children. Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway narrates the story of a mother battling to reclaim custody of her kids after Norwegian authorities take them away, a plot inspired by the real-life case of Sagarika Chakraborty. At the 71st National Awards, Rani was seated beside her longtime friend and co-star Shah Rukh Khan. The ceremony saw a glittering lineup of the country’s most celebrated names, including Mohanlal, Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ronnie Screwvala, Anupama Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Guneet Monga, Meghna Gulzar, Vaibhavi Merchant, and Apoorva Mehta. The evening also turned special for Rani’s close friends Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Vaibhavi Merchant. Shah Rukh Khan shared the Best Actor award with Vikrant Massey, honoured for his exceptional performance in 12th Fail. Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was recognised as Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
