Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming epic Love & War is shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2026. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, the film promises an ‘epic’ love story set against the backdrop of war. While the makers are keeping much of the project under wraps, fresh details about a key action sequence have now emerged.“Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor have been undergoing intense prep for a high-octane fight sequence in Love & War,” reveals an industry source close to the development. “SLB is preparing for an intense fight scene between Vicky and Ranbir. The team is going to block an entire street in Sicily, Italy, for this massive schedule. SLB will be shooting internationally after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, making it one of the most ambitious highlights of the film.”
A modern interpretation of Sangam
The story revolves around a love triangle between two army officers, played by Ranbir and Vicky, and Alia Bhatt’s character. Taking inspiration from the themes of the 1964 classic Sangam, Bhansali’s film reimagines the complex, high-stakes romance with a contemporary lens.
Ranbir Kapoor’s role is said to be a “twisted grey” character, offering him ample scope for a layered performance. The wartime backdrop adds further intensity to the already charged emotions of love, rivalry, and sacrifice.
