Ranbir prioritizes Love & War, delays Ramayana part 2 release

Ranbir Kapoor prioritizes Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’, delays ‘Ramayana’ part 2 release - Reports

Ranbir Kapoor juggles two films: Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’. Due to extended shooting for ‘Ramayana’, Ranbir is focusing on ‘Love and War’ first, delaying ‘Ramayana Part 2’. The epic stars Ranbir as Ram with Sai Pallavi and Yash, set for Diwali 2026 and 2027.

Ranbir Kapoor is juggling two major films at the moment: Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’. The epic ‘Ramayana’ is planned as a two-part saga, with the first part debuting on Diwali 2026 and the second expected the following year, though fans might experience a wait for the sequel.

Change in shooting schedule of ‘Ramayana’

According to recent reports, Ranbir had initially planned to finish shooting both parts of Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ before starting work on ‘Love & War’. However, due to the extended shooting schedule for ‘Ramayana’, Ranbir has now decided to dedicate all his available dates to Bhansali’s film.

Reports confirm delay in ‘Ramayana’ part 2

According to Deccan Chronicle, Ranbir had planned to complete the two parts of ‘Ramayana’, then finish Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’. But the film is showing no sign of getting done. Therefore, he has no choice but to give Bhansali all the dates that were originally meant for ‘Ramayana’ part 2. This means that part 2 may not be able to reach theatres as per plan at the end of 2026.

Star-studded cast of ‘Ramayana’

While, Ranbir stars as Ram in the film, with Sai Pallavi portraying Sita. Yash, known for his role in ‘KGF’, will play Ravana. Sunny Deol takes on the role of Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will depict Mandodari and Surpanakha, respectively. The cast also includes Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan. Reports confirm that the editing of the first part of the movie has already been completed.

Ranbir Kapoor on ‘Love & War’

‘Love and War’ features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. Earlier this year, at a Mumbai meet and greet, Ranbir spoke about the film, saying, “Love and War is something which is every actor’s dream. To work with brilliant actors like Alia and Vicky and to be directed by the master – Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I worked with him 17 years ago. To work with him again, I can say this with so much of clarity that I haven’t met a human being who works so hard, who understands characters, emotions, music, Indian culture, Indian value system, as much as Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Just to be on his set, it is tiring. It is long. The process can be a little daunting but eventually, as an artist, it is so satisfying. He really nurtures art. As actors, it’s truly been amazing so far.” Go to Source
