Ranbir Kapoor REPLACES Ranveer Singh in 'Baiju Bawra'? Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s team begins pre-production - Report

Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have had a longstanding professional relationship. The actor stepped into Bollywood with Bhansali’s 2007 film ‘Saawariya’. The duo are currently working together again in ‘Love & War’. But reports now suggest that Kapoor may also be joining Bhansali’s long-awaited project, ‘Baiju Bawra’.

Ranbir Kapoor reportedly replaces Raveer Singh

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, Sanjay Bhansali has finalised Ranbir Kapoor for ‘Baiju Bawra’, which is now expected to go on floors next year.The report revealed, “SLB’s team has already begun pre-production work. Ranbir, a huge admirer of vintage music, starts his mornings with classics from the 1950s, including songs from the original ‘Baiju Bawra’ released in 1952. He’s even introducing his daughter Raha to this timeless music.”

Ranveer Singh was originally considered for lead role

The film was initially planned with Ranveer Singh in the lead. Reports claimed that Singh had already begun preparing for the role before Bhansali decided to focus on ‘Love & War’, which also stars Kapoor.Over the years, speculation around the casting has been constant. Some reports suggested Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt were set to star, but no final cast was ever officially announced.

Ranbir Kapoor on the work front

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is preparing for his role in ‘Love & War’, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. He is also working on Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, portraying Lord Ram, with Yash as Raavan and Sai Pallavi as Sita.In addition, he also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s sequel to the 2023 hit ‘Animal’. Speaking in a recent Instagram live, he said, “Animal Park should start in 2027. Sandeep has been interacting with me on the idea, the music and the characters, and it’s just crazy, and I can’t wait to be on set.”
