'Ramayana' trailer sparks WILD theatre reactions; fans cheer Ranbir Kapoor and Yash's big-screen entries - WATCH

The long wait for the ‘Ramayana’ trailer finally ended on Thursday, with Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari releasing the clip on the film’s official handles. Within hours of the official trailer launch, the makers began the clip’s roll-out into theatres and played the four-minute trailer across cinemas in the country for fans to witness the epic on the big screen.

Fans have since been taking to social media to share the euphoric reactions from audiences and moviegoers as they watched the trailer play ahead of various film screenings. Video footage shows fans erupting in celebration as the trailer unfolds on the big screen. The loudest cheers, whistles and applause were reserved for the grand introductions of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana.Several viral videos capture fans’ surprise on watching Yash in his menacing avatar, take over the screens as Ravana, before Ranbir makes his appearance as Lord Rama.

Fans hail ‘Ramayana’ trailer

The overwhelming response comes after the trailer’s global launch, where viewers applauded the film’s visual effects, action sequences and performances by its leading cast. Many also applauded the makers for fine-tuning the CGI and colour grading after criticism from the early ‘Rama Glimpse’.

‘Ramayana’ cast and release date

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, ‘Ramayana’ also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Kunal Kapoor as Indra, and Arun Govil as King Dasharatha. The trailer was released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.The film is slated to release in two parts, with the first part set for its grand theatre launch on Diwali 2026, and the sequel set for a Diwali 2027 release.
