‘Ramayana Part 1’ may release in China as makers plan promotional tour with Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi – Reports

Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic ‘Ramayana Part 1’ continues to generate massive anticipation ahead of its release. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in pivotal roles, the film is already expected to have a grand global rollout. Now, fresh reports suggest the makers are exploring a theatrical release in China, with plans for a special promotional campaign featuring the lead cast.According to a Mid-day report, discussions are currently underway with Chinese exhibitors and distributors to bring ‘Ramayana Part 1’ to audiences in the neighbouring country. If the plans materialise, the film’s lead actors, Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, are expected to participate in a four-day promotional tour. The reports stated that the the tentative itinerary includes a press event and screening at the Pingyao International Film Festival on September 24, followed by a multi-city promotional run during China’s Golden Week beginning October 1.

Bollywood’s history at the Chinese box office

China has previously emerged as a lucrative overseas market for several Hindi films. Blockbusters such as ‘Dangal’, ‘Secret Superstar’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ found considerable success there, with ‘Dangal’ becoming one of the biggest Indian hits in the country. However, after the release of ‘Andhadhun’, very few major Bollywood films have made it to Chinese theatres. If ‘Ramayana Part 1’ secures a release, it could mark a significant return for Hindi cinema in the market and potentially pave the way for more Indian films to follow.

Trailer launch set for July 24

The excitement surrounding ‘Ramayana Part 1’ is set to intensify with the release of its trailer on July 24, 2026. The makers recently confirmed that the trailer will be unveiled at a grand event in Delhi, officially kicking off the film’s promotional campaign.

Diwali release planned for the first chapter

‘Ramayana Part 1’ is scheduled to arrive in cinemas during Diwali 2026, while the second instalment is expected to release during the festive season next year. Backed by a star-studded cast and mounted on a massive scale, the two-part cinematic adaptation is among the most anticipated Indian releases and is expected to make a significant impact at the global box office.
