Ramayana: Part 1 makers plan special TIFF preview in September

'Ramayana: Part 1' makers plan special TIFF preview in September after Delhi trailer launch and Comic-Con showcase - Report

‘Ramayana: Part 1’ makers, led by producer Namit Malhotra, are reportedly planning a special preview and press conference at TIFF in September, tentatively between the 10th and 11th, to boost the film’s global campaign. This follows the trailer launch in Delhi and a showcase at Comic-Con. The trailer releases July 23.

The global promotional rollout for director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated mythological masterpiece, ‘Ramayana: Part 1,’ is scaling up to historic proportions. Following its grand first-look showcase at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) and a massive worldwide trailer launch, producer Namit Malhotra and his team are planning their next major international move. Reports indicate that the makers are organizing a special exclusive preview and press conference at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2026.

‘Ramayana: Part 1’ team plans TIFF preview in September

Even before ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ starts its global promotions with a trailer launch in Delhi and a showcase at San Diego Comic-Con next week, the makers are already planning their next move abroad. According to a Mid-day report, producer Namit Malhotra and his team have started talks about holding a special preview and press meet at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). They are looking at September 10 to 11 as possible dates for the event.By strategically targeting global film distributors, international media, and premier exhibitors, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to establish the Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash starrer as a watershed global cinematic event ahead of its Diwali 2026 IMAX release.

‘Ramayana: Part 1’ aims to be a global cinematic event

This step would support the broader plan to position the Nitesh Tiwari-directed film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, as a global cinematic event. That said, unlike official premieres featured in TIFF’s programme, this preview will reportedly offer only select glimpses of the epic. By hosting the event, the makers hope to tap into the strong presence of international media, buyers, and exhibitors at the renowned film festival.

Ramayana: Part 1’s TIFF plans still in early stages

Reportedly, the idea is to build ‘Ramayana’ as a global event. Toronto offers access to international media, distributors, and the wider film community. Conversations are in the early stages; much depends on schedules and logistics.
