Rajpal Yadav Hearing LIVE Updates: HC to take up actor’s cheque bounce case today

The bail hearing, which was adjourned on February 12, 2026, has been scheduled for today in the ongoing legal matter involving actor Rajpal Yadav. The development comes amid heightened public interest in the case, given the actor’s long-standing presence in Hindi cinema and his popularity for comic roles.

The case pertains to allegations linked to financial irregularities involving a loan dispute. According to earlier proceedings, the matter traces back several years to when a complaint was filed over non-repayment of borrowed funds in 2010, tied to financing a film titled ‘Ata Pata Laapata’. It marked the actor’s directorial debut. The complainant had alleged that the agreed amount was not cleared within the stipulated timeline, leading to legal escalation. Over time, the issue moved through various stages of litigation, including court summons and hearings.

During previous hearings, the court examined documents related to the transaction, repayment terms, and communication between the parties involved. The defense maintained that efforts had been made to settle the dues and that there was no intention to defraud. On the other hand, the complainant’s counsel argued that repeated assurances were not honored, prompting the legal action.

The actor was sent to Delhi’s Tihar jail and is currently serving his sentence.

On February 12, the court adjourned the bail plea hearing, citing procedural reasons and the need to review certain submissions placed on record. With the matter now listed for hearing today, both sides are expected to present further arguments regarding interim relief and compliance with court directives.

The outcome of today’s hearing could prove significant for the actor, as it will determine the immediate course of action in the case. Legal observers note that while financial disputes in the film industry are not uncommon, cases involving prominent public figures often draw sharper scrutiny. Further updates are awaited as the court takes up the matter for consideration.
