Radhika Sarathkumar backs Khushbu Sundar over online trolling

Radhika Sarathkumar backs Khushbu Sundar over online trolling of daughters Avantika and Anandita: 'Freedom of speech is not freedom to bully'

Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar has come out in support of her daughters Avantika and Anandita, who have been abused online. The actress was upset with the personal comments shared on social media and made it clear that she wouldn’t stay silent anymore when it came to protecting her family. Fans and celebrities have largely approved of her powerful response. Actress Radhika Sarathkumar also spoke against cyberbullying. The issue has once again sparked a discussion about the growing trend of targeting celebrities’ families for online attention.

Khushbu’s strong message to trolls goes viral

Sharing a family photograph on X (formerly Twitter), Khushbu spoke about the values she and her husband, filmmaker Sundar C, had instilled in their daughters. She stressed that her children had never taken advantage of their parents’ fame and had earned every opportunity through hard work. Addressing those making offensive comments, she wrote: “Do not think me being quiet means I am fine with your dirty, pathetic mindset. Never mess with a mother. I am a wounded tiger protecting my cubs. Enough is enough.” She also criticised those who create content about celebrities purely for views and publicity, saying she would not allow anyone to insult her daughters for “two-minute cheap publicity.” Despite admitting she was tempted to respond in the same language, she said she chose restraint because of the values she was raised with.

Radhika Sarathkumar backs Khushbu Sundar with a powerful statement

Standing firmly by Khushbu, actress Radhika Sarathkumar shared a photograph with the family and condemned online harassment in equally strong words. Her post read: “Freedom of speech is not freedom to bully. Criticism is not cruelty. Humour is not humiliation. ஒரு பெண்ணை விமர்சிக்கலாம், ஆனால் அவளுடைய குழந்தைகளை கேலி செய்வது நாகரிகம் அல்ல. அது ஒரு சமூகத்தின் ஒழுக்கத் தோல்வி. (“You can criticize a woman, but mocking her children is uncivilized. It reflects a moral failure of a society.” ) (sic) “She further described targeting a public figure’s children as an act of cowardice and said a person’s appearance should never be used to judge their worth. Khushbu later thanked Radhika for standing beside her “as a friend and family,” with many social media users praising the actresses for speaking openly against online abuse.

The debate on online bullying gains momentum again

The latest exchange comes just weeks after Anandita opened up about the online trolling she has faced since childhood. During a podcast appearance, she revealed that one of the frequent insults aimed at her was being compared to a transgender person, calling such remarks both hurtful and deeply prejudiced.Anandita has quietly built her own career behind the scenes, contributing to films like ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ and ‘Thug Life,’ before making her debut as a creative producer with ‘Double Occupancy.’ She is currently busy with the shoot for ‘Meesaya Murukku 2’. The backing that Khushbu and Radhika have provided has given new momentum to the conversation on how social media can be made a more responsible and respectful place. Go to Source
