Raaj REACTS to ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ shoot stalled rumors

Raaj Shaandilyaa ADDRESSES legal tussle with Ektaa Kapoor that stalled 'Bhagam Bhag 2' shoot: 'Such pressure tactics…'

Filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa has responded to reports of a legal dispute with Ektaa Kapoor’s production house, denying any wrongdoing. He stated he terminated his contract legally and that ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ remains on track. Shaandilyaa claims the allegations are an attempt to intimidate him and urged industry members to note such pressure tactics. Read on to know more in detail.

Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Manoj Bajpayee were scheduled to begin shooting for ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ this month. However, reports stated that a legal notice from Ektaa Kapoor to director Raaj Shaandilyaa over breach of contract stalled the filming. Now, the filmmaker has finally responded to the rumors online. Let’s take a look at what he has to say.

Raaj Shaandilyaa’s statement over the ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ legal issue with Ektaa Kapoor

According to the Mid-Day report, Raaj Shaandilyaa’s team issued a statement to clear the rumors about legal tensions between him and Ektaa Kapoor. The statement assured everyone that the film is on track. It read, “I, Raaj Shaandilyaa, had, in accordance with my contractual rights, issued a notice terminating my arrangement with Balaji Telefilms.”The statement further read, “It has now been over two weeks since the termination notice was issued. If Balaji Telefilms believed it had any sustainable legal basis to challenge the termination, it was open to them to approach the appropriate civil court. No such proceedings have been initiated.”Raaj Shaandilyaa’s statement refuted the allegations made by the production house. It read, “These accusations are wholly unfounded and appear to be nothing more than an attempt to intimidate and browbeat after having realized that there is no viable case to challenge the termination.” The filmmaker added, “I remain fully confident of my legal position and will address any such allegations through the appropriate legal process. It may also be clarified that the film ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ is very much on track and the project will proceed as scheduled.”The director urged everyone to note the way big banners allegedly use pressure tactics in such cases. His statement concluded, “Members of the film and creative industry may take note of the manner in which such pressure tactics are being employed and draw their own conclusions when deciding future professional associations.”

What is the issue between Raaj Shaandilyaa and Ektaa Kapoor’s production house?

According to the Bollywood Hungama report, Ektaa Kapoor filed a case against Raaj Shaandilyaa for breaching their contract. As per the report, the filmmaker had signed a three-film deal with Ektaa’s production house. Reportedly, the director has now gone ahead to work on two movies outside the banner. The insider told the publication, “This has irked Ektaa, as Raaj didn’t take an NOC from her, nor did he refund the advance taken to direct the third project under her banner.”The legal notice was sent to Raaj Shaandilyaa along with the ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ producers Ashwin Varde and Akshay Kumar. As per the insider of the entertainment web portal, “Seeing the complexities in the project, the producers decided to cancel the schedule until the legal issues are resolved. At the moment, all the stakeholders are trying to resolve the issues.”Meanwhile, fans can’t wait to witness ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ on the big screens.
