R Madhavan asks Sadguru about bike ride to Kailash after brain surgery

A shocked R Madhavan asks Sadguru how he's travelling to Mount Kailash on bike after two brain surgeries, here's how he responded

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, popularly known as Sadhguru, underwent two brain surgeries in 2024. Barely a year later, the 67-year-old spiritual leader has bounced back to health and is now on a motorcycle journey to Mount Kailash. On his way, he had a conversation with actor R Madhavan, who praised his resilience and spirit.Madhavan expressed how amazed he is on seeing this and thus asked Sadguru, “Who is recovering from subdural hematoma, when most people would be playing it really safe, you decide to go to Mount Kailash, not via a normal route but take a bike, most perilous journey in the rain and mud, what made you do this?”Sadhguru responded with a laugh, “When the head is broken, I thought it’s best to put it in Shiva’s lap.”Sharing more about his connection with Mount Kailash, he explained that while he has been visiting for years, the past five years saw him going only as far as Lake Mansarovar from the Nepal side since China had closed entry. “I missed last year because I had a broken head. I broke it twice, not once,” he recalled with a chuckle. He also spoke about an earlier health scare when he battled a fever for 12 weeks and was told he might not survive. According to him, his visit to Kailash changed everything. “I came to Kailash. I had lost my muscle mass. My thighs had lost almost 1/4th of the muscle in those 12 weeks. But in that condition, I came to Kailash and I sat there. Then I saw the humungous richness that was there. I just took one strand of that. You won’t believe in 20 minutes, I was a new man, I trekked all the way up and down.”Recounting his second brain surgery, Sadhguru revealed how it happened after an accident at home. “My daughter and I were swimming in the pool. I had a plastic wrap on my wound and was swimming a little bit because I need the exercise. A big monkey came and wanted to go inside because there were lots of fruits inside. So, my daughter instinctively screamed at the monkey, and the monkey turned around, coming with its mouth open. I instinctively got up. I had my walking stick inside and I ran for it. Somebody had closed the door so I went and banged full speed into the glass. The glass made such a big bang that the monkey ran away. So the purpose was served, but my head was cracked.”Doctors later discovered major bleeding both “outside the brain and below the bone.” Despite warnings that another head injury could be fatal, Sadhguru initially chose to wait and observe. “I thought I would wait till that night and see if there are any symptoms. Immediately, imbalance will happen or pain will happen..all that…The next morning, I woke up…I was fine. The next three days of the program I went through, and then I flew to Coimbatore city. From the airport, I went straight to a scan. Once again, bleeding. Then I went for another surgery.”
