Quote of the day by Coco Chanel

“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.”By championing “the different,” she didn’t just create a brand; she redefined the feminine standard of style, proving that true empowerment comes from having the courage to stand apart from the crowd.Quoted by Harper’s Bazaar, these words said by Coco Chanel truly reflect her own self.

Coco Chanel – The legacy

Born in 1883, Chanel grew up in humble beginnings in Saumur, France. She was sent to an orphanage after her mother’s death, and from there she learnt how to sew, a skill that became a foundation of her future. As a young woman, she worked as a café singer in Moulins. Her singing career led her to influential circles. Chanel introduced comfortable, practical fashion, popularizing jersey fabric, relaxed silhouettes, and the idea that elegance didn’t require restriction. Some of her most iconic contributions include: The little black dress, the Chanel suit, and Costume jewelry as everyday luxury.During World War II, Chanel closed her business and lived a quieter life. At the age of 70, when most would retire, Chanel made a bold return to fashion in 1954. Coco Chanel passed away in 1971 in Paris, but her influence never faded.
