Priyanka Chopra and Orlando Bloom cast in survival thriller 'Reset'; film to begin production in August

Priyanka Chopra is on a roll. Just a day after the release of her spy thriller, ‘Citadel’ Season 2, the actress landed her next film.Priyanka has reportedly been cast opposite Orlando Bloom in the upcoming survival thriller, ‘Reset’, directed by Matt Smukler, Deadline reports. The film that is scheduled to go into production in August will also see the actress co-producing the film.

As per the report, the film, written by Jordan Rawlins, follows a woman, played by Chopra, who wakes up in the middle of the wilderness days from civilisation with no memory of how she got there, finding that her only chance at survival is to trust a charming stranger (Bloom) – who may not be who he says he is.

Speaking about the casting, director Smukler told the portal, “I was looking for a pairing where attraction and mistrust could effortlessly coexist. Priyanka and Orlando have this uncanny ability to make you believe both at once. Their chemistry is undeniable.” Producers Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber added, “Jordan Rawlins and Matt Smukler have created a gripping story of survival, romance, suspense, and deceit, replete with shocking twists, and we’re thrilled to have partnered with Priyanka and Orlando to bring it to the screen.”

Chopra, who debuted season 2 of ‘Citadel’ on Wednesday, will also be seen in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’. The actress will play the female lead in the film that stars Mahesh Babu in the lead role. The film, currently in production, has a few more weeks of shooting before they wrap up the film. As per reports, the team, currently shooting in India, will soon head over to Antarctica to shoot the next schedule on the Ross Ice Shelf, becoming one of the first few film crews to shoot in the location.’Varansi’ is scheduled to release in theatres on 7 April 2027.
