Priya pens emotional note for Sunjay on her b’day amidst Rs 30,000 legal battle

Amidst Sunjay Kapur's Rs 30,000 crore legal battle, Priya Sachdev pens emotional note for him on her birthday: 'Today is a hard day for me'

Priya Sachdev Kapur’s birthday this year unfolded in a way she had never experienced before — without her husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur, by her side. It was the first time she marked the occasion in his absence, and the sense of loss was unmistakable in the heartfelt note she shared on social media. On her Instagram Stories, Priya spoke candidly about the quiet sorrow that accompanied the day, admitting that it was especially painful as memories of Sunjay came rushing back. As part of her tribute, she posted a screenshot of an old birthday message written by him, a deeply affectionate note that celebrated their partnership, their family, and the love they shared. In it, Sunjay had described her as the heart of their family and his forever companion.

While sharing the post, Priya reflected on how much those birthday wishes had meant to her through the years.“Today is a hard day for me,” she wrote. “I always looked forward to my birthday cards and wishes from you. They were filled with your love, affection and appreciation for me. I cannot celebrate my life when I have lost the love of my life.”Her message poignantly conveyed not just grief, but the hollow space left behind when familiar expressions of love abruptly vanish.

Even amid the sadness, Priya found comfort in small, meaningful moments that made her feel Sunjay’s presence. She revealed that their children became her quiet pillars of strength on the day. Azarias made her a birthday card, while Safira stayed awake until midnight to wish her — gestures that, she felt, reflected the same love Sunjay had always shown her.“In the smallest moments, I feel you close,” she shared. “Through the children, I see the same love and appreciation you had for me and I know you are still here with us.”Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12, 2025, after collapsing while playing polo in London. His sudden death sent shockwaves through business and social circles alike. His last rites were held on June 19 at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in South Delhi, attended by close family and friends. At the time of his passing, Sunjay was the chairman of Sona Comstar. He was earlier married to actor Karisma Kapoor, with whom he shares two children, Samaira and Kiaan. Following their divorce in 2016, he married Priya Sachdev. The couple had a son together, Azarias, while Priya’s daughter Safira is from her previous marriage to hotelier Vikram Chatwal. Go to Source
